The Kingsfleet ladies friendly team made their first visit to Newton Green on Monday.
It was a perfect spring golfing day, with lots of sunshine and a fairly stiff breeze when the team arrived to a very warm welcome. Sadly, the home team could only field a reduced team of six players on the day, but nevertheless, everyone enjoyed the outing and the challenge of playing a very different course. The roadside hole could have unnerved players not used to driving alongside lorries thundering past, but the Kingsfleet ladies held their collective nerve to take the match with a 2-1 win (one pair won outright and the other two drew).
The ladies enjoyed a tasty and very convivial lunch following their games, and are already looking forward to hosting Newton Green for the re-match.
